For the last few weeks, a hushed silence has reigned over the 京A Brewery. We were in the presence of royalty. An extremely heady, unavoidable presence. You see, we invited into our tanks an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the rich domain of tropical fruits. our guest reigned supreme.

DURIAN.

是的，我们真的这么做了。我们用这款让人又爱又恨的水果酿造了一款新酒。它真的很“香”，虽然数量非常有限，理由嘛…你懂的。我们不希望酿酒坊永远闻起来像臭脚一样（虽然在这漫长的一周确实是这样）。

Yes, we dared. We went there. We brewed a new beer with the sacrilegious fruit itself. And we made something delicious, albeit in extremely limited quantities because…you know. We don’t want the brewpub to smell like stinky feet forever (which it did for one very long week).  

为了纪念榴莲最臭名昭著的特性，我们命名它为【臭脚】。在榴莲的“臭”和“奶香”之间，我们并没有做过多的抉择，而是决定酿造一款波特酒，将两者融为一体。我们对这个结果感到非常满意，相信我们，它的“真香”效果值得一试。

We’re calling it Choujiao (“Stinky Feet”) in honour of Durian’s most infamous characteristic. But rather than choosing between stinky or creamy, we decided to create a Baltic Porter that would be both at the same time. We’re pretty proud of the results, and we urge you to embrace the stink and drink deep. Trust us on this one.

Choujiao is out this Friday, contained safely within 330ml takeaway bottles only. We commissioned acclaimed local illustrator Liuba Draws to capture the um, pungent spirit of this beer for the label, and she nailed it:

Durian’s infamous stench and famous taste come together in a velvety, creamy Baltic porter with notes of chocolate and roasted coffee. Toasted coconut flakes add a touch of sweetness to a deep, dark, rich pour. A regal, all-consuming experience befitting the King of Fruits.
