Alipay is a very useful and popular tool in daily life in China, actually, it is China's equivalent to PayPal. You can use it when you check out at the super market, vegetable market, buy movie tickets, you can use it in any other situation where you need to pay goods or services, among a range of diverse functions from hotel bookings to transport options and comprehensive online services.
Now, let me show you the tips to get it set in your phone.
First we need to add a bank card.
1) Download the updated Alipay app and sign up with a valid mobile phone number. Make sure to select the type of ID you have and enter your personal information exactly the way it is registered at the bank.
2) Follow the instruction to add the bank card, fill in related information as required.
Tap "Me" on the bottom right corner and you will find "Bank Cards." Press it and it will show all the bank cards added.
After you've set everything up, you will find your bank account info under the "Bank Cards" section.
On the homepage of the APP, you can find four icons on the top.
The first one (on the top left corner), you can use it scan the merchants QR Code, to pay the money;
The second one, you can press it to create your own QR code to collect money/pay money;
Third one, is the icon for you to pay for public transportation or get taxi, buy train/flight tickets;
The last one is the collection of all e-papers, such as your voucher, train/flight tickets, etc.
Alipay also has many built-in functions that simplify your daily life. Below the four icons, you will find more icons for different services.
"Transfer" is a easy way to transfer money between your Alipay wallet and your bank account, or transfer money to your friends, as long as your have their mobile phone number.
"My package" links to all the express company, so you may have your package picked up or track or trace your package.
