Warning as malware drains millions from British online bank accounts
An international task force[国际行动小组;专案组;特遣部队] has arrested[逮捕] a key figure behind an online banking scam[网上银行诈骗] which has seen tens of millions of pounds drained from[流失；从某处被吸走] British accounts. Britain’s National Crime Agency[英国国家(打击)犯罪局], working with the FBI[联邦调查局（Federal Bureau of Investigation）] and others, believes it has severely disrupted[妨碍; 扰乱;中断;破坏] a gang operating[帮派;团伙行动] in Eastern Europe[东欧]. The gang used a strain of Dridex malware[恶意软件], also known as Bugat and Cridex, to harvest online banking details, which are then used to steal cash from individuals and businesses around the world. An estimated £20m was stolen from UK bank accounts. The National Crime Agency believes there could be thousands of infected[被感染的] computers in the UK, the majority being Windows users.
This is a particularly virulent[剧毒的；恶性的；有恶意的] form of malware and we have been working with our international law enforcement partners, as well as key partners from industry, to mitigate[使缓和，使减轻] the damage it causes.

The agency is working with the FBI to ‘sinkhole[ 污水坑；排水口；阴沟口]’ the malware, to stop infected computers - known as a botnet[僵尸网络] - from communicating with the cyber criminals controlling them. An international effort involving Europol[欧洲刑警组织], GCHQ[Government Communications HeadQuarters 政府通信总部] and the Moldovan[摩尔多瓦] authorities was under way to disrupt[破坏；使瓦解；使分裂] the sophisticated[复杂的；精致的；久经世故的；富有经验的] cyber criminal network[网络犯罪网], resulting in a “significant arrest” with more expected. The NCA[全国通信协会（National Communications Association）] is encouraging all internet users to ensure they have up to date[最新的；最近的；现代的] operating systems and anti-virus software installed on their machines, to protect themselves from further cyber crime attacks.
They can and will deploy[部署；展开] new malware and we, along with our partners, are alive to[对…敏感；发觉，关心] this threat and are constantly devising[设计；想出；发明；图谋] new approaches to tackle cyber crime.
