近日,一则“京东CEO刘强东涉嫌性侵被美国警方逮捕”的消息在网上曝出,在网上引发广大吃瓜群众的围观。

The billionaire founder of JD.com, one of China’s largest and most successful online retailers, was arrested Friday in Minnesota for alleged sexual misconduct before being released a day later, police records show.

据警方记录,中国最大、最成功的在线零售商之一京东的亿万富翁创始人上周五在美国明尼苏达州因涉嫌不当性行为被捕,第二天被释放。

Chinese billionaire Liu Qiangdong, also known as Richard Liu, the founder of the Beijing-based e-commerce site JD.com, was arrested in Minneapolis on suspicion of criminal sexual conduct, jail records show. Liu, 45, was arrested late Friday night and released Saturday afternoon pending possible criminal charges, Hennepin County Jail records show. The jail records don’t provide details of the alleged incident.

The chief executive of Chinese online retailer JD.com, Liu Qiangdong, was briefly arrested in the US on accusations of criminal sexual conduct.  Mr Liu, one of China's richest people, was arrested in Minneapolis shortly before midnight on Friday and released on Saturday afternoon.

Its website showed Liu was “released pending complaint”. JD.com is one of China’s tech heavyweights, competing with larger rival Alibaba.

Liu, who is worth an estimated $7.3 billion, owns 16 percent of the company and has vast control over major business decisions.

9月2日,京东官方在微博上发表声明,称之为「失实指控」:

In a statement posted Sunday afternoon on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, JD.com said the executive, Liu Qiangdong had been falsely accused.


During a business trip to the United States, Mr. Liu was questioned by police in Minnesota in relation to an unsubstantiated accusation,” the company said. “The local police quickly determined there was no substance to the claim against Mr. Liu, and he was subsequently able to resume his business activities as originally planned.

刘强东先生在美国商务活动期间,遭遇到了失实指控,经过当地警方调查,未发现有任何不当行为,他将按照原计划继续其行程。


失实指控


纽约时报将「失实指控」一词译为an unsubstantiated accusation,以及 be falsely accused;其中unsubstantiated意思就是“未被证明的,未经证实的”,英文解释为“not proved to be true”,如:
