People-centeredness is an essential attribute of Marxism.

党的理论是来自人民、为了人民、造福人民的理论，

Our Party’s theories are from the people, for the people, and beneficial to the people.

人民的创造性实践是理论创新的不竭源泉。

The people’s creative practices are the inexhaustible source of our theoretical innovations.

inexhaustible /ˌɪn.ɪɡˈzɔː.stə.bəl/ 表示“用不完的，无穷无尽的”，英文解释为“existing in very great amounts that will never be finished”举个🌰：

There seemed to be an inexhaustible supply of champagne at the wedding.

婚礼上似乎有喝不完的香槟。

一切脱离人民的理论都是苍白无力的，一切不为人民造福的理论都是没有生命力的。

Theories that are detached from the people will be feeble and ineffective, and theories that cannot deliver for the people will be stale and lifeless.

detached /dɪˈtætʃt/ 1）表示“分离的，分开的；拆下的”，英文解释为“separated”举个🌰：

The label became detached from your parcel.

标签已经从你的包裹上掉下来了。

2）表示“认为与己无关的；毫不关心的，心不在焉的”，英文解释为“A detached person does not show any emotional involvement or interest in a situation.”举个🌰：

She seemed a bit detached, as if her mind were on other things.

她似乎有些心不在焉，好像心思在别的事情上。

feeble /ˈfiː.bəl/ 1）表示“虚弱的；衰弱的，无力的”，英文解释为“weak and without energy, strength, or power”举个🌰：

He was a feeble, helpless old man.

他是一个虚弱无助的老人。

2）表示“无效的；不佳的”，英文解释为“not effective or good”如：a feeble joke/excuse 干巴巴的笑话/站不住脚的借口。

1）表示“不再有趣的，没有新意的，乏味的”，英文解释为“not interesting or exciting any more”，如：stale jokes 老掉牙的笑话。

2）也可以指“（面包、蛋糕）不新鲜的，变味的”，英文解释为“bread or cake that is stale is no longer fresh or good to eat”，如：stale cake 不新鲜的蛋糕；

3）表示“（空气）不新鲜的，污浊的”，英文解释为“air that is stale is not fresh or pleasant”，如：the smell of stale smoke 污浊的烟味。

我们要站稳人民立场、把握人民愿望、尊重人民创造、集中人民智慧，形成为人民所喜爱、所认同、所拥有的理论，使之成为指导人民认识世界和改造世界的强大思想武器。

We must stand firmly with the people, respond to their wishes, respect their creativity, and pool their wisdom to develop theories that they like, accept, and adopt and that become powerful tools guiding them in understanding and changing the world.

作动词，表示“集中资源（或材料等）；（为不同人士或团体）集合（资金/资源）”，英文解释为“to collect something such as money in order for it to be used by several different people or groups”举个🌰：

The kids pooled their money to buy their parents a wedding anniversary gift.

孩子们把钱凑在一起为父母买了结婚周年礼物。

作名词，表示“共享人员；共享资金；共享资源”，英文解释为“a number of people or a quantity of a particular thing, such as money, collected together for shared use by several people or organizations”举个🌰：

He crashed a Ford that he'd borrowed from the car pool at work.

他把从公司车队借的一辆福特汽车撞坏了。

—We must maintain self-confidence and stand on our own feet.

表示“自立，自食其力”，英文解释为“to be able to provide all of the things you need for living without help from anyone else”举个🌰：

中国人民和中华民族从近代以后的深重苦难走向伟大复兴的光明前景，从来就没有教科书，更没有现成答案。

There has never been an instruction manual or ready-made solution for the Chinese people and the Chinese nation to turn to as they fought to end the great sufferings endured since the advent of modern times and have moved on toward the bright future of rejuvenation.

suffering /ˈsʌf.ər.ɪŋ/ 表示“疼痛；折磨；痛苦”，英文解释为“physical or mental pain that a person or animal is feeling”举个🌰：

The war will cause widespread human suffering.

战争会给很多人带来苦难。

endure /ɪnˈdʒʊər/ 表示“忍耐；忍受”，英文解释为“to suffer something difficult, unpleasant, or painful”举个🌰：

We had to endure a five-hour delay at the airport.

航班延误，我们不得不在机场苦等了5个小时。

the advent of 表示“（事件、发明或人物的）出现，来临，到来”，英文解释为“the fact of an event happening, an invention being made, or a person arriving”举个🌰：

Life was transformed by the advent of the smartphone.

智能手机的出现使人类生活发生了翻天覆地的变化。

🎬电影《X战警：第一战》（X-Men: First Class）中的台词提到：The advent of the nuclear age may have accelerated the mutation process. 核时代的到来可能会加快突变过程。

rejuvenation  /rɪˌdʒuːvəˈneɪʃn/ 表示“更新；复苏；复壮；回春作用”，英文解释为“the action or process of giving new energy or vigor to something.”

党的百年奋斗成功道路是党领导人民独立自主探索开辟出来的，马克思主义的中国篇章是中国共产党人依靠自身力量实践出来的，

The Party has led the people in independently blazing the path to success over the past century, and the success of Marxism in China has been realized by Chinese Communists through our own endeavors.

blaze a path = blaze a trail 表示“开拓道路；起先导作用”，英文解释为“To blaze a path is to lead the way, to be a pioneer in a field or to clear the road for others to follow in your footsteps.”

美式 endeavor 英式 endeavour /enˈdev.ər/ 可以作名词，也可以作动词，表示“努力；奋力”，英文解释为“to try to do something”举个🌰：

Engineers are endeavoring to locate the source of the problem.

工程师们正竭尽全力查找问题的根源。

贯穿其中的一个基本点就是中国的问题必须从中国基本国情出发，由中国人自己来解答。

One point underpinning these successes is that China’s issues must be dealt with by Chinese people in light of the Chinese context.

表示“加强，巩固，构成（…的基础等）”，英文解释为“to support or form the basis of an argument, a claim, etc.”举个🌰：

The report is underpinned by extensive research.

这份报告以广泛的研究为基础。

美式 in light of sth 英式 in the light of sth 表示“根据；考虑到，鉴于”，英文解释为“If something is possible in the light of particular information, it is only possible because you have this information.”举个🌰：

In the light of this information it is now possible to identify a number of key issues.

根据这一信息，现在有可能发现很多关键问题。

🎬电影《完美音调2》（Pitch Perfect 2）中的台词提到：In light of this embarrassing 鉴于这个让人尴尬的...

📺美剧《硅谷》（Silicon Valley）中的台词提到：Well, in light of recent activities, it appears that I could do a goddamn thing about it. 有鉴于最近的种种 看来我还是有办法的。

1）表示“（事情存在、发生的）背景，环境”，英文解释为“the situation within which something exists or happens, and that can help explain it”举个🌰：

It is important to see all the fighting and bloodshed in his plays in historical context.

结合历史背景解读他戏剧作品中所有的争斗和流血事件，这点很重要。

2）表示“上下文；语境”，英文解释为“the text or speech that comes immediately before and after a particular phrase or piece of text and helps to explain its meaning”。

补充：

📍out of context表示“脱离上下文”，英文解释为“If words are used out of context, only a small separate part of what was originally said or written is reported, with the result that their meaning is not clear or is not understood.”举个🌰：

The reporter took my remarks completely out of context.

记者引用我的话完全是断章取义。

🎬 电影《钢铁侠2》（Iron Man 2）的台词中提到：You do understand that reading a single paragraph out of context does not reflect ... 你知道，如果脱离上下文只读一段是不能体现...

我们要坚持对马克思主义的坚定信仰、对中国特色社会主义的坚定信念，坚定道路自信、理论自信、制度自信、文化自信，

We must remain firm in our conviction in Marxism and socialism with Chinese characteristics and strengthen our confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

1）表示“坚定的看法；坚定的信念；坚定的信仰”，英文解释为“a strong opinion or belief”如：a deep/strong/lifelong conviction 深深的/坚定的/终生的信仰。

2）表示“定罪，判罪”，英文解释为“the fact of officially being found to be guilty of a particular crime, or the act of officially finding someone guilty”举个🌰：

Since it was her first conviction for stealing, she was given a less severe sentence.

由于她是初次犯盗窃罪，对她的量刑不是很重。

🎬电影《玉子》（Okja）中的台词提到：I admire your conviction, Silver, 我敬佩你的决心。

With a stronger sense of historical responsibility and creativity, we should make greater contributions to the development of Marxism.

既不能刻舟求剑、封闭僵化，也不能照抄照搬、食洋不化。

We should never act blindly without assessing how conditions have evolved or allow ourselves to become ossified or closed off, nor should we mechanically imitate others or indiscriminately absorb foreign ideas.

blindly /ˈblaɪnd.li/ 表示“摸黑地，在黑暗中；盲目地；没头没脑地”，英文解释为“not able to see or not noticing what is around you；not thinking about or understanding what you are doing”举个🌰：

The room was completely dark and I fumbled blindly for the door.

房间里一片漆黑，我摸索着找门。

表示“（使）逐步发展；（使）逐步演变；（使）逐渐形成；（使）进化”，英文解释为“to develop gradually, or to cause something or someone to develop gradually”举个🌰：

ossified /ˈɒs.ɪ.faɪd/ 表示“僵化的，固定不变的”，英文解释为“(of habits or ideas) fixed and unable to change”

表示“封锁，封闭，关闭（入口）”，英文解释为“to put something across the entrance of a place to stop people from entering”举个🌰：

Police quickly closed off the area.

警方迅速封闭了该地区。

表示“模仿，仿效”，英文解释为“to behave in a similar way to someone or something else, or to copy the speech or behaviour, etc. of someone or something”。

We must be more conscious of problems, especially new problems that are discovered through practice, deep-seated problems affecting reform, development, and stability, pressing concerns of the people, major issues in the evolving global landscape, and prominent issues we face in Party building.

表示“根深蒂固的；笃信的”，英文解释为“strongly felt or believed and very difficult to change or get rid of”如：a deep-rooted desire 强烈的愿望。

不断提出真正解决问题的新理念新思路新办法。

We should keep developing new thinking, new approaches, and new ways to effectively resolve problems.
