—We must apply systems thinking.

万事万物是相互联系、相互依存的。

All things are interconnected and interdependent.

interdependent /ˌɪn.tə.dɪˈpen.dənt/ 表示“互相依赖的，互相依存的”，英文解释为“depending on each other”举个🌰：

All living things are interdependent.

所有的生物都是互相依存的。

只有用普遍联系的、全面系统的、发展变化的观点观察事物，才能把握事物发展规律。

We must view them with the understanding that they are universally connected, part of a complete system, and constantly evolving if we are to grasp the laws governing their development.

表示“（使）逐渐形成，逐步发展，逐渐演变，进化”，英文解释为“to develop gradually, especially from a simple to a more complicated form; to develop sth in this way”举个🌰：

The company has evolved into a major chemical manufacturer.

As a major developing country, China is still in the primary stage of socialism and is going through an extensive and profound social transformation.

我们要善于通过历史看现实、透过现象看本质，把握好全局和局部、当前和长远、宏观和微观、主要矛盾和次要矛盾、特殊和一般的关系，

We should be able to see the present from a historical perspective, look beyond the surface to get to the crux of issues, and properly manage the relationships between overall and local interests, between the present and the future, between macro and micro concerns, between primary and secondary issues, and between the special and the ordinary.

the crux /ˈkrʌks/ 表示“关键；核心；症结”，英文解释为“the most important or serious part of a matter, problem, or argument”举个🌰：

Now we come to  the crux of the matter.

现在我们来谈问题的症结。

macro /ˈmæk.rəʊ/ 表示“大的；宏观的”，英文解释为“large; relating to the whole of something, rather than its parts”如：macroscopic (= large enough to be seen by the human eye) 肉眼可见的。

micro /ˈmaɪ.krəʊ/ 表示“小的，微小的”，英文解释为“very small”如：a microorganism 微生物，microbiology 微生物学。

不断提高战略思维、历史思维、辩证思维、系统思维、创新思维、法治思维、底线思维能力，为前瞻性思考、全局性谋划、整体性推进党和国家各项事业提供科学思想方法。

We should improve our ability to adopt a strategic perspective and apply a historical, dialectical, and systematic approach to thinking; we should get better at thinking creatively, thinking in terms of the rule of law, and considering worst-case scenarios. By doing so, we can develop a well-conceived approach to planning and advancing the endeavors of the Party and the country on all fronts in a forward-looking and holistic manner.

dialectical /ˌdaɪ.əˈlek.tɪ.kəl/ 表示“辩证的”，英文解释为“discovering what is true by considering opposite theories”如：dialectical materialism/logic 辩证唯物主义/逻辑。

1）conceive (of) sth (as sth)表示“想出（主意、计划等）；想象；构想；设想”，英文解释为“to form an idea, a plan, etc. in your mind; to imagine sth”举个🌰：

God is often conceived of as male.

上帝常常被想象为男性。

2）另一个含义表示“怀孕；怀（胎）”，英文解释为“When a woman conceives or conceives a child , she becomes pregnant”。

🎬电影《云图》（Cloud Atlas）中的台词提到：One may transcend any convention, if only one can first conceive of doing so. 一个人可以打破任何陈规，只要这个人能首先想到这样做。

🎬电影《最后的维加斯》（Last Vegas）中的台词提到：My brain cannot conceive how old this body is. 我的脑袋没办法接受老去的躯体。

📍well-conceived 表示“策划周密的，精心构思的”，ill-conceived /ˌɪl.kənˈsiːvd/ 表示“计划不周的；不明智的”，英文解释为“badly planned and unwise”举个🌰：

The whole project was ill-conceived.

整个项目计划不周。

holistic /həˈlɪs.tɪk/ 表示“整体的，全面的”，英文解释为“dealing with or treating the whole of something or someone and not just a part”举个🌰：

My doctor takes a holistic approach to disease.

我的医生采用了一种全面的治疗方法。

—We must maintain a global vision.

The Communist Party of China is dedicated to pursuing happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. It is also dedicated to human progress and world harmony.

rejuvenation  /rɪˌdʒuːvəˈneɪʃn/ 表示“更新；复苏；复壮；回春作用”，英文解释为“the action or process of giving new energy or vigor to something.”

我们要拓展世界眼光，深刻洞察人类发展进步潮流，积极回应各国人民普遍关切，为解决人类面临的共同问题作出贡献，

We should expand our global vision and develop keen insight into the trends of human development and progress, respond to the general concerns of people of all countries, and play our part in resolving the common issues facing humankind. 

以海纳百川的宽阔胸襟借鉴吸收人类一切优秀文明成果，推动建设更加美好的世界。

With an open mind, we should draw inspiration from all of human civilization’s outstanding achievements and work to build an even better world.

三、新时代新征程中国共产党的使命任务

III. The New Journey of the New Era: Missions and Tasks of the Communist Party of China

从现在起，中国共产党的中心任务就是团结带领全国各族人民全面建成社会主义现代化强国、实现第二个百年奋斗目标，以中国式现代化全面推进中华民族伟大复兴。

From this day forward, the central task of the Communist Party of China will be to lead the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in a concerted effort to realize the Second Centenary Goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization.

ethnic /ˈeθ.nɪk/ 表示“民族的；种族的”，英文解释为“relating to a particular race of people”举个🌰：

A question on ethnic origin was included in the census.

人口普查项目包括一个有关种族出身的问题。

表示“努力的；共同筹划决定的；同心协力的”，英文解释为“done in a planned and determined way, especially by more than one person, government, country, etc.”举个🌰：

The richer countries of the world should take concerted action to help the poorer countries.

centenary /sɛnˈtiːnərɪ/ 表示“一百周年（纪念）”，英文解释为“the day or year exactly 100 years after a particular event”如：a concert to mark the centenary of the composer's birth 纪念这位作曲家百年华诞的音乐会。

在新中国成立特别是改革开放以来长期探索和实践基础上，经过十八大以来在理论和实践上的创新突破，我们党成功推进和拓展了中国式现代化。

Based on our decades of exploration and practice since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, especially since the launch of reform and opening up in 1978, as well as the new breakthroughs made in theory and practice since the 18th National Congress, we have succeeded in advancing and expanding Chinese modernization.

中国式现代化，是中国共产党领导的社会主义现代化，既有各国现代化的共同特征，更有基于自己国情的中国特色。

Chinese modernization is socialist modernization pursued under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. It contains elements that are common to the modernization processes of all countries, but it is more characterized by features that are unique to the Chinese context.

——中国式现代化是人口规模巨大的现代化。

—It is the modernization of a huge population.

我国十四亿多人口整体迈进现代化社会，规模超过现有发达国家人口的总和，

China is working to achieve modernization for more than 1.4 billion people, a number larger than the combined population of all developed countries in the world today.

艰巨性和复杂性前所未有，发展途径和推进方式也必然具有自己的特点。

This is a task of unparalleled difficulty and complexity; it inevitably means that our pathways of development and methods of advancement will be unique.

unparalleled /ʌnˈpær.əl.eld/ 表示“无双的，无比的；空前的”，英文解释为“having no equal; better or greater than any other”举个🌰：

They enjoyed success on a scale unparalleled by any previous rock band.

他们取得了以前任何流行乐队都无法比拟的成功。

我们始终从国情出发想问题、作决策、办事情，

We will, as always, bear China’s realities in mind as we address issues, make decisions, and take action.

既不好高骛远，也不因循守旧，保持历史耐心，坚持稳中求进、循序渐进、持续推进。

We will neither pursue grandiose goals nor go by the rulebook. We will stay patient in advancing the course of history and take steady and incremental steps to sustain progress.

grandiose /ˈɡræn.di.əʊs/ 表示“夸大的，不切实际的；华而不实的”，英文解释为“larger and containing more detail than necessary, or intended to seem important or great”如：grandiose schemes/designs/ideas for making money 不切实际的赚钱计划/方案/想法。

表示“增加的；递增的；小的”，英文解释为“in a series of amounts”举个🌰：

Most research proceeds by small incremental advances.

大多数的研究是渐进式的。

1）表示“保持，维持，使持续，使继续”，英文解释为“to cause or allow something to continue for a period of time”举个🌰：

The economy looks set to sustain its growth into next year.

看来经济的增长会持续到明年。

2）表示“经历，遭受（尤指破坏或损失）”，英文解释为“to suffer or experience, especially damage or loss”举个🌰：

She sustained multiple injuries in the accident.

她在这次事故中多处受伤。

—It is the modernization of common prosperity for all.

共同富裕是中国特色社会主义的本质要求，也是一个长期的历史过程。

Achieving common prosperity is a defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics and involves a long historical process.

我们坚持把实现人民对美好生活的向往作为现代化建设的出发点和落脚点，

The immutable goal of our modernization drive is to meet the people’s aspirations for a better life.

immutable /ɪˈmjuː.tə.bəl/ 表示“永恒的；不可改变的”，英文解释为“not changing, or unable to be changed”如：an immutable law 永恒的法则。

着力维护和促进社会公平正义，着力促进全体人民共同富裕，坚决防止两极分化。

We will endeavor to maintain and promote social fairness and justice, bring prosperity to all, and prevent polarization.

美式 endeavor 英式 endeavour /enˈdev.ər/ 可以作名词，也可以作动词，表示“努力；奋力”，英文解释为“to try to do something”举个🌰：

Engineers are endeavoring to locate the source of the problem.

工程师们正竭尽全力查找问题的根源。
