ethical /ˈeθ.ɪ.kəl/ 表示“道德的；伦理的”，英文解释为“relating to beliefs about what is morally right and wrong”如：ethical and legal issues 道德和法律问题。

物质富足、精神富有是社会主义现代化的根本要求。

Material abundance and cultural-ethical enrichment are fundamental goals of socialist modernization.

物质贫困不是社会主义，精神贫乏也不是社会主义。

Material want is not socialism, nor is cultural impoverishment.

impoverishment /ɪmˈpɒv.ər.ɪʃ.mənt/ 表示“贫穷；贫困化”，英文解释为“the condition of being or becoming very poor, or the act of making someone very poor”举个🌰：

The drought reduced many farmers to impoverishment.

consolidate /kənˈsɒl.ɪ.deɪt/ 表示“（使）巩固；（使）加强”，英文解释为“to become, or cause something to become, stronger, and more certain”举个🌰：

The success of their major product consolidated the firm's position in the market.

公司主打产品取得的成功巩固了该公司在市场上的地位。

foster /ˈfɒs.tər/ 表示“鼓励；促进；培养”，英文解释为“to encourage the development or growth of ideas or feelings”举个🌰：

I'm trying to foster an interest in classical music in my children.

我正努力培养我的孩子们对古典音乐的兴趣。

1）表示“坚定的看法；坚定的信念；坚定的信仰”，英文解释为“a strong opinion or belief”如：a deep/strong/lifelong conviction 深深的/坚定的/终生的信仰。

2）表示“定罪，判罪”，英文解释为“the fact of officially being found to be guilty of a particular crime, or the act of officially finding someone guilty”举个🌰：

Since it was her first conviction for stealing, she was given a less severe sentence.

🎬电影《玉子》（Okja）中的台词提到：I admire your conviction, Silver, 我敬佩你的决心。

表示“遗产（指流传下来的具有历史意义的传统、语言、建筑等）”，英文解释为“features belonging to the culture of a particular society, such as traditions, languages, or buildings, that were created in the past and still have historical importance”。

人与自然是生命共同体，

Humanity and nature make up a community of life.

无止境地向自然索取甚至破坏自然必然会遭到大自然的报复。

plunder /ˈplʌn.dər/ 表示“盗窃；侵吞”，英文解释为“a situation in which something is taken in a way that is not morally right or is too extreme”举个🌰：

We need to put a stop to the plunder of the rain forest.

That brutal and blood-stained path of enrichment at the expense of others caused great suffering for the people of developing countries.

bloodstained /ˈblʌd.steɪnd/ 表示“有血迹的，沾染着血的”，英文解释为“with marks of blood on it”举个🌰：

The essential requirements of Chinese modernization are as follows: upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China and socialism with Chinese characteristics, pursuing high-quality development, developing whole-process people’s democracy, enriching the people’s cultural lives, achieving common prosperity for all, promoting harmony between humanity and nature, building a human community with a shared future, and creating a new form of human advancement.

全面建成社会主义现代化强国，总的战略安排是分两步走：从二〇二〇年到二〇三五年基本实现社会主义现代化；从二〇三五年到本世纪中叶把我国建成富强民主文明和谐美丽的社会主义现代化强国。
