World leaders condemn killings in French capital

The deadly attacks have prompted[引起] outrage[愤怒,愤慨] from leaders around the world. Chinese President Xi Jinping condemned[谴责;判刑,定罪;声讨] the attack and said that China sends its deepest condolences[慰问] to the families of the victims. Premier Li Keqiang noted the Chinese government firmly opposes all forms of terrorism[坚决反对任何形式的恐怖主义] and will work with France and the international community[国际社会] to counter[抵消; 抗衡;解决] its threats and challenges.


United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called the terror attacks "despicable[卑劣的;可鄙的]," and wished those injured a quick recovery[快速恢复;康复].


Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama said the attacks in Paris are an "outrageous[ 粗暴的;可恶的;令人吃惊的] attempt to terrorize[使…恐怖] innocent civilians[无辜的平民]" and an "attack on all of humanity."


British Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his shock on Twitter. He pledged[保证;抵押;给予] "whatever we can" to help the French people.


And Russian President Vladimir Putin has also sent his deep condolences[慰问;哀悼], condemning this "inhumane killing[无人性的杀虐]" and vowing to[誓要…;并称将要…] provide all assistance.
