78 excavators & 1,200 rescuers added to the search

From CCTV.com

Seventy-eight excavators['ɛkskəvetɚ][挖掘机;开凿机] and 1,200 rescuers['rɛskjʊɚ][救援者] have been added to the search for the 91 people missing in Sunday's landslide['lændslaɪd][山崩;滑坡] at an industrial park[工业园区] in Shenzhen, in South China's Guangdong province.

The excavators['ɛkskəvetɚ][挖掘机;开凿机] arrived at the site[现场] this morning. They are the first to be involved in[参与] the operation. An initial investigation[初步调查] shows that 33 buildings have been buried or damaged: 14 factory buildings[厂房], two office buildings[写字楼;办公楼], one canteen[食堂], three dormitories[宿舍] and 13 low-rise buildings[低矮建筑].

PetroChina[中国石油], owner of China's major West-to-East natural gas pipeline[西气东输管道] that exploded[爆炸] as the landslide hit, said it has emptied the 400-meter-long ruptured[破裂的] pipe and is building a temporary replacement[临时替换]. Two checkpoints[检查点集;检验点] have been established to register and verify information on the missing people[对失踪人员信息登记和核实].

The 900 people evacuated[疏散;撤出] after the landslide are staying in temporary settlements[临时安置点] at a nearby sports center, community workstation[社区工作站] and hospital. A field medical station with 16 medics has been set up.

Signs of life[生命迹象] have been detected at three locations. Experts at the site say it is unlikely there would be more landslides.
