for not Canceling Your Permits Properly
Recently, the Exit-Entry Bureau & Technical Bureau in Shanghai are launching stricter inspections on foreigners in many aspects.
Please pay close attention to the details below:
1. Chinese work permits & residence permits of foreign applicants need to be canceled within 10 days after leaving the company.
NOTE
Normally, the 'Service system for foreigners working in China' can only be logged in with company accounts. Therefore individuals cannot cancel their own work permits.

2. When you change your job to another company locally, start the transferring process and submit a new work permit application within 30 days, otherwise, new non-criminal record authenticated by the consulate will be required.
3. When you change your residence address in Shanghai, please keep in mind that you should go to the nearest local police station or login the website below for registration. (scan the code)
If the above issues are not handled properly, you may face the following punishments:
1. If the work permits & residence permits are not canceled in time, applicants should pay a fine of 500 RMB/day.
2. If the work permits of employees are not canceled in time, the company should pay a fine of maximum of 100,000 RMB.
3. During the process of the work visa transferring, delaying might leave bad records in the official system and might affect your future applications for long-term Chinese permits.
4. If you fail to register your address at the police station or website in time, you may have to pay 500-1000 RMB fine.
