Day 1. 

Xi'an Arrival - City Wall visit - Muslim Quarter - Gaojia Courtyard

Welcome to Xi'an! Upon arrival, make your own way to the downtown hotel. Our guide will meet you at the hotel to assist you in checking in. Please arrive in Xi'an before noon.

Be accompanied by your tour guide to step up to the Xi'an Ancient City Wall, and be introduced to the most complete and oldest city defenses with ancient walls, ramparts, gates, watchtowers, and horse passages. 

You can walk on the massive wall (tall, long, and thick), or rent a bicycle (optional, rent the bike at your own expense) to get some good views of the city and the surrounding moat.

Then we will take you to the Muslim Quarter which is packed with various stalls of local authentic food and snacks.

Entertain your taste bud with iconic Shaanxi food like Lamb Paomo (Pieces of Flat-bread Bun Soaked in Mutton Soup), Hulu Ji (Gourd-shaped Chicken), etc., and purchase some antiques, artworks, Terracotta Warrior imitations, etc. as souvenirs.

Your guide will take you to taste Xi'an's special snacks (included in our itinerary).

After that, head to the Gaojia Courtyard. With a history of 400 years, the courtyard features antique buildings, traditional shadow play, painting, and paper-cutting.

You can watch traditional shadow puppetry (pay extra).

Day 2. 

Terracotta Warriors - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Datang Everbright City

After a one-hour drive from the city center, you will arrive at the Terracotta Warriors Museum. Discovered accidentally in 1974, the repairs and excavations still continue in the three pits, where one will marvel at more than 7000 life-sized sculptures of the ancient army, including both gray-haired veterans and young soldiers, with multiple poses and individualized facial features. There is also a circular-screen short film introducing its historical background and how it was discovered.

Note: We also provide an optional activity, Terracotta Warriors making. If you are interested in making a replica small terracotta soldier, we'd like to arrange that for you.

Then, visit another landmark of Xi'an - the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. At around 65 meters tall, the pagoda was built in 652 (in Tang Dynasty) to store Buddhist scriptures brought back by Xuanzang from India. 

Then head to Datang Everbright City which is next to the Wild Goose Pagoda. It is like a time travel when you walk among many Tang Dynasty-style architectures.

Day 3. 

 Huashan Mountain

Pick up from the hotel. Take a day trip to Huashan Mountain, at an elevation of 2,160m (7,086 ft), famous for a natural vista of steep and narrow paths, precipitous crags, and a high mountain range. The most dangerous plank walk along the cliff face attracts thrill-seekers from all over the world to challenge themselves.  

Most visitors will take a traditional but efficient walking-ascending and cable-car-descending route for this mountain climbing. By taking this route, visitors can experience not only its danger but also the major meaningful scenic spots.

We will escort you back to the hotel around dinner time. The rest time is for you to take a rest and enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 4. 

Xi'an Museum - Small Wild Goose Pagoda - Xi'an Departure

In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel. Then, you will visit the Xi'an Museum, which holds as many as 130,000 exquisite cultural relics.

The underground exhibition hall displays many unearthed cultural relics, showing the history of Xi'an, the one-time capital of 13 dynasties, its economy, social life, as well as cultural exchange and trade with foreign countries.

After, your guide will show you around the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, one of two significant pagodas in Xi'an. As a national AAAA scenic spot and a world heritage site, the Buddhist pagoda survives from the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Tourists can learn about the history and culture of Xi'an by visiting the pagoda.

This tour of Xi'an is nearly coming to an end, We suggest the departure time is after 6 PM, please book your flight according to this.

Notice for Reservation

① 4 Pax Min, 12 or 15 Pax Max in a group.

② We take CNY 1,000 as a deposit when you sign up.

③ Full trip fee needs to be paid 7 days before departure.

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel your reservation for some reasons

more than 7 days prior to the departure date, the deposit would be fully refunded;

if you cancel 4 to 7 days prior to the departure date, we'll keep a 50% trip fee as a cancellation fee;

if you cancel 0 to 3 days prior to the departure date, you'll NOT get a refund.

In case meet with severe weather that poses a risk to people's safety or any government restriction, JoyTravel could cancel the trip up to 1 day in advance, and the trip fee would be fully refunded. Please note that we are NOT responsible for any flight cancellation fees. You should contact the airline company directly to deal with this issue.
