Unlike famous tourist cities such as Zhangjiajie and Guilin, Fujian province is often ignored by foreign tourists.

In fact, there is one masterpiece deserving your attention - Tulou, which is an outstanding representative of architectural art and has been listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

This 5-day classic Xiamen tour will be extended to Quanzhou, one of the most important Chinese ports along the historic Maritime Silk Roads. The incomparable explorer Marco Polo also visited the city. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the best blend of cultures in addition to appreciating the Tulou during this trip!

Day 1. 

Xiamen Arrival

Welcome to Xiamen, the Garden City on the Sea! Upon arrival, your driver will greet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the time is at your leisure.

Day 2. 

Gulangyu Island Tour

Today's highlights will be Gulangyu Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its almost one thousand historical buildings, ranging from former European consulates to Chinese-inspired Art Deco mansions.

After a 20 minutes ferry, you will set foot on the island and then enjoy your relaxing time. You will visit the largest old villa on the island - the Sea Heaven, where you can also enjoy classical music performances and traditional puppet shows.

Shuzhuang Garden will open up a surprising sea view in front of you as you walk through the lush plants, corridors, and rock formations. Walk to the most famous Sunlight Rock and capture the wonderful panorama of red and pink Western-style architecture with emerald trees.

Then come to the Octagonal Building, which is named after the octagonal rhombus on the exterior wall, the Wanguo Complex and the Yu Garden. At end of the visit, transfer you back to the hotel.

Day 3. 

Xiamen - Tulou

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Xiamen downtown hotel and drive about 2.5 hours to Nanjing to visit the Tianluokeng Tulou complex.

Tianloukeng is famous for its unparalleled panoramic view of earth buildings: one in the middle and four others clustered around it. You may have seen the classic Tulou publicity photos many times, but you will still be amazed when you stand on the rooftop observation deck and see the UFO-like Tulou buildings.

Yuchanglou is the most famous Tulou in Tianluokeng. You might think it too common with nothing special when seeing Yuchanglou from outside, but you will realize that you were wrong once you step into the gate: the columns on the corridors are slanted!  Yuchanglou has suffered from rain, wind, and earthquakes in the past 700 years but still survived well.

Taxia Village depicts a picturesque countryside view where the visitors could get real relief from their busy life and work. Deyuantang (Zhang's Family Temple) is an outstanding view of Taxia Village. Through the grand building and beautiful decorations inside, you can read the ever glory of this large family.

After all visits, drive back to Xiamen downtown for the night.

Day 4. 

Xiamen - Quanzhou - Xiamen

This morning, drive around 1.5 hours to Quanzhou, one of the most famous historical and cultural cities in China. Upon arrival, you will be led to Kaiyuan Temple, one of China's largest and most important Buddhist temples, and the nearby East & West Pagoda, said to be the best-preserved stone pagodas in China.

After that, wander leisurely among the unique arcade buildings on the bustling and lively West Street and nearby Zhongshan Road for some tasty snacks.

Later this afternoon, visit Chongwu Ancient Town, the "most intact" seaside granite town still preserved in China.

Continue your visit to Wudianshi Traditional Block or "Five Shops District", situated downtown, is a project that has relocated and renovated more than 100 traditional Song Dynasty (960-1279) and Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) buildings.

Finally, we will visit Anping Bridge, which is about 2,255 meters long and is China's longest existing flat-beam sea-crossing stone bridge. The bridge is a junction for land transportation between Quanzhou and the vast coastal areas of southern China.

Return to Xiamen for the night after the visit.

Day 5. 

Xiamen Departure

Today, enjoy your leisure time until the driver transfers you to the Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport for your departure flight to home!

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel your reservation for some reasons

more than 7 days prior to the departure date, the deposit would be fully refunded;

if you cancel 4 to 7 days prior to the departure date, we'll keep a deposit of CNY1,000 as a cancellation fee;

if you cancel 1 to 3 days prior to the departure date, we'll keep 50% of the full trip fee as a cancellation fee and you'll NOT get a refund if you cancel on the departure day.

In case meet with severe weather that poses a risk to people's safety or any government restriction, JoyTravel could cancel the trip up to 1 day in advance, and the trip fee would be fully refunded. Please note that we are NOT responsible for any flight cancellation fees. You should contact the airline company directly to deal with this issue.
