Zhangjiajie is reputed as "an enlarged potted painting", "a miniature of fairyland", and "a maze of nature" which features a concentration of quartzite-sandstone formations found nowhere else in the world.

Some 243 peaks and more than 3,000 pinnacles and spires dominate the scenery in this Unesco-protected park. 

The park with the characteristics of quietness, wildness, mystery, beauty, and elegance had inspired Pandora's Hallelujah Mountain in the movie AVATAR.

Zhangjiajie Arrival

Please make your own way to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport. 

When you arrive at the airport, the local driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. You could hang out freely for the rest of the day and have a good rest.

Tianzi Mountain - Yuanjiajie - Hallelujah Mountain - Bailong Elevator

Today's first stop is Tianzi Mountain. You can't beat the views of this 21 square miles of mountain landscape. It continuously wows visitors with tower-like peaks rising up abruptly from the tree-covered ground. If you are lucky, you will encounter the wonder of clouds sea after the rain is clear. 

Then get to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. This is the most popular spot in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and also the inspiration for the Hallelujah Mountain in the super famous movie Avatar. 

Bailong Elevator, the highest and heaviest elevator in the world, will take you up to Yuanjiajie in only 1 minute and 58 seconds. As you get off the elevator, a huge piece of "landscape painting" by nature will be unfolded in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering next to you.

Last, drive back to your hotel.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon - Glass Bridge - Tianmen Mountain - Zhangjiajie Departure

After breakfast, drive 40 minutes to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon where the dense trees, plunging waterfalls, and mist on the stream, cliffs, and caves create a landscape like no other. The Glass Bridge, the biggest highlight here, is suspended between two cliffs of the canyon. Walking along the bridge is a terrifying experience but worthwhile for the panoramic view of the entire Grand Canyon.

Then head to Tianmen Mountain. The world's longest cable car will take you to the top of the mountain. Upon arrival at the mountain top, you will visit the Tianmen Temple dating from the Ming Dynasty. Then get a chance to take a walk on the glass skywalk built by transparent glass against the cliffs. 

Follow your guide to the Tianmen Cave (Heaven's door cave). It is actually a natural stone archway that is 131.5 meters high and 57 meters wide and will take about 0.5 hours to walk through. 

Later, along the 99-bend Road (a mountain road with wonderful scenery on either side), a shuttle bus will take you down to the mountain foot. 

After the tour is finished, you'll be dropped off at Zhangjiajie Airport for departure.  

Note: Please depart Zhangjiajie airport after 8 pm to ensure no rush during the tour.

② We take CNY 1,000 as a deposit when you sign up.

③ Full trip fee needs to be paid 7 days before departure. (full trip fee needs to be paid 15 days before departure if your trip falls on an official Chinese holiday such as Labor Day, National Day, Chinese New Year)

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel your reservation for some reasons

more than 7 days prior to the departure date, the deposit would be fully refunded;

if you cancel 4 to 7 days prior to the departure date, we'll keep a deposit of CNY1,000 as a cancellation fee;

if you cancel 1 to 3 days prior to the departure date, we'll keep 50% of the full trip fee as a cancellation fee and you'll NOT get a refund if you cancel on the departure day.

In case meet with severe weather that poses a risk to people's safety or any government restriction, JoyTravel could cancel the trip up to 1 day in advance, and the trip fee would be fully refunded. Please note that we are NOT responsible for any flight cancellation fees. You should contact the airline company directly to deal with this issue.
