Nursery rhymes are catchy and full of rhythms and humors that children can understand instantly.

Here we've chosen three nursery rhymes with matching activities and games.

《The Muffin Man》

Children have no resistance to songs related with food. They pretend to put food into their mouths while listening. The whole song has simple lyrics and happy melody.


孩子对于食物相关的歌曲毫无抵抗力,听的时候会边唱边假装把食物放进嘴里吃,整首曲子歌词简单,曲调欢快。

Activity Preparations

活动准备

1 banana,

1 egg, 

muffin paper cup

(or disposable paper cup), 

tray, 

100g low gluten flour, 

40g milk,

30g vegetable oil,

3g baking powder (optional),

25g sugar,

any snacks you already have at home.(dried fruit, chocolate chips etc.)


香蕉1根,

鸡蛋1个,

Muffin纸杯(一次性纸杯也可),

托盘,

低筋面粉100克,

牛奶40克,

植物油30克,

泡打粉3克(没有也可),

细砂糖25克,

家中就地取材的装饰食品(果干、巧克力豆等)。




Instructions

1. Learn to sing "The Muffin Man" with children.        

2. Measure 100g of low gluten flour, 40g of milk, 30g of vegetable oil, 25g of sugar and 3g of baking powder .In this step ,parents of 4-6-year-old children might  encourage  your  child  to paticipate in  the  activity, while  those of 2-3-year-old kids may do the measurement directly.

3.Mash a banana by hand or with a fork. Here parents can encourage children to use different kinds of tools to make banana puree!

4.Add egg, milk, sugar and vegetable oil into the banana puree. Stir well with a mixing spoon. 

5.Add flour and baking powder, and continue mixing until there is no dry powder.

6.Fill in muffin tins or cupcake liners about 2/3 full, decorate with dried fruit, etc. 
7.Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.

8.Decorate muffins with snacks.

9.Put the decorated muffins into a tray, sing the song, share them with the whole family, and be a little muffin man! You can also change the lyrics, add your child's own name, for example: Lucas is the muffin man~

1.与孩子一起学唱《The Muffin Man》,邀请孩子一起做Muffin。

2.与孩子一起测量100克低筋面粉,40克牛奶,30克植物油,25克细砂糖和3克泡打粉备用(建议:2-3岁儿童家长可直接准备,4-6岁儿童可参与测量)。

3、把一根香蕉用手捏成香蕉泥,或者用叉子捣成泥。这里爸爸妈妈们可以鼓励小朋友使用各种工具将香蕉制泥哦!

4、在香蕉泥中加入鸡蛋,牛奶,细砂糖,植物油,用搅拌勺搅拌均匀。

5.加入面粉和泡打粉,继续搅拌直到没有干粉。

6.装入Muffin纸杯(8分满),点缀上果干等。

7.烤箱180度预热后,上下管180度烤20分钟。

8.Muffin烤好后,请宝贝使用现有的小零食装饰Muffin。

9.把装饰好的Muffin装进托盘,唱着《The Muffin Man》,分享给家人,做小小Muffin man啦!还可以改改歌词哦,加上宝贝自己的名字,例如:Lucas is the muffin man~

互动指导策略

1.Please wash your hands with your children before making delicious food, and pay attention to the appropriate hand washing steps;

2.Don't be afraid that children will make their little hands and faces dirty. When children knead, their fingertips can have unique sensory stimulation. When using tools, it is a good  opportunity for small muscles and big muscles to work together;

3.Humming or singing the song while making the dough will help your child better understand and remember the rhyme;

4.Finally,  let  the  children  to  share  his or her work with the whole family,from which children could enjoy a higher degree of self-achievement.


1、进行美食制作前请和孩子一起洗好小手,注意正确的洗手方法;

2、不要害怕孩子会弄脏小手小脸,孩子在揉捏时,指尖能有独特的感官刺激,在使用工具的时候是小肌肉大肌肉共同合作的绝佳时机;

3、在制作的时候可以伴随着哼唱歌曲,在重复中加强宝贝们的记忆和理解;

4、最后要请孩子将劳动成果分享给家人,体验制作喜悦的同时一起享受劳动成果的喜悦。

小蜘蛛爬爬爬,不管日晒雨淋终于爬到了水管之上。小小的歌谣,短短4句,坚韧的小蜘蛛形象就出现在我们面前。

In the kindergarten, teachers will use their fingers to interact with children while the song is sung.Children use their thumbs and index fingers of both hands to mime the little spider climbing up the spout. Please kindly follow the teacher’s demonstration from the video linked below.

1. If your child doesn’t understand the English, parents can learn from the video with the finger movements and then explain it to the child.
2. Even the whole family can enjoy this song all together by moving their fingers with the rhyme.It’s totally fine if anyone missed a beat.It's FUN.

Any kinds of fruits you already have at home, play dough, play dough tools (plastic cutting knife, rolling pin).


家里现有的水果若干,各色彩泥,制作彩泥的工具(塑料小刀,擀面杖)。

Slide up and read

1.While singing the Happy Fruit song with your child,put out your home fruits on the table and ask your child point to those sung in the song.

2.Count the number of fruits. For example, ask the child to cover his or her eyes, then take away one fruit, ask the child to open eyes and count again.
3.Use the play dough to make fruits. You can ask your child to repeat the Chinese little play dough shaping tips (as shown in the Chinese version above) or use the following tips: 

Yellow dough stretch and bend turn out to be one banana.

Red dough form a ball turn out to be an apple.

Orange dough form a ball turn out to be a big orange.

Yellow dough form a ball and press down to a pie.

Then use the rolling pin to make an oval shape, turn out to be a pineapple .

Red dough form a ball turn out to be a watermelon. 

Cut it in half then add some green dough to make the watermelon rind.....

4.Extended activities: put eyes, mouth and nose on the play dough fruit, ask the child to make different shapes of mouth to express the mood of the fruit, happy or sad? Smiling or pouting?

5.You can also ask your child the shape of each doh fruit made.

1.与宝宝一起学唱《Happy Fruits》,拿出歌中的水果,唱到哪种点哪种。

2.数数各种水果,可采用游戏的形式,让宝宝捂住眼睛,拿掉一个,看看还有几个水果。

3.拿出彩泥橡皮泥开始制作水果。一边制作一边念用语言巩固动作:

彩泥变变变,

黄色搓长弯一弯,变成香蕉;

红色团成圆,变成大苹果;

橙色团成圆,变成大橘子;

黄色团成圆压扁,用擀面杖擀成椭圆形变成菠萝;

红色团成圆,变成大西瓜,西瓜圆形一切二,半圆成一片,加上绿色彩泥做瓜皮 ......

4.延伸活动:可以给做好的水果贴上眼睛、鼻子、嘴巴,让宝宝根据嘴型表达自己的心情,也可以让宝宝根据所做的水果说出形状.

5.宝宝完成水果后,唱着《Happy Fruits》,可根据自己做的水果,更改歌中的水果名字。

1. Before making the play dough fruits, explain to your child how to use the tools properly and safely while using them.
2. Encourage your child to participate and help when in need. Observe how your child is doing to get a better idea while not leaving  them alone.
3. Humming or singing the song while making the dough will help your child better understand and remember the rhyme.
4. In the end, ask your child to put the things away and clean up the desk.
