Dulwich Pudong Celebrates 20 Years of Making a Difference

Twenty years ago Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong opened their doors.
They started with 23 students, 48 staff and one big dream: to create a school which would put students at the heart of everything they do and carry on the 400-year tradition of Dulwich College London.
On Monday September 4, 2023, they gathered together for their 20th Anniversary Birthday Bash. Students, staff, and parents celebrated 20 years of Making a Difference.
How else to mark such an historic milestone than by doing something different – something they'd never done before – by getting the community together to spell out a message big enough to be seen from the sky: DULWICH 20.
The College’s two founders, Fraser White and Karen Yung, gave opening addresses and handed out awards to 14 founding staff who are still with them today.
"Students, teachers, parents – it is you who make Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong the great place it is to learn and to teach."
"Not only is Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong one of the leading international schools in China and the world, but even more important is the community which has grown up along with it," Mr. White said. "Students, teachers, parents – it is you who make Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong the great place it is to learn and to teach."
Ms. Yung pointed to the incredible growth of Education in Motion, the education group to which the College belongs.
"Being part of the group multiplies our strengths and provides even more opportunities for our students and our teachers to be the very best they can be."

In the afternoon at DUCKS they held a birthday celebration with their youngest learners who enjoyed singing Happy Birthday and yummy birthday cupcakes.
Head of College Garry Russell reflected, "Over the last 20 years we have strived to be one of the very best schools in the world. This takes constant effort and the ability to innovate. One thing that has not changed is that we have remained loyal to our values. We value every voice, we do the right thing and we make a difference. Our values will always be the driving force as we continue our restless pursuit to Live Worldwise."
