Wellington College International Hangzhou today wraps up the Michaelmas Term, ending on a high note with a community Christmas party. Parents, teachers and other community members were invited to celebrate Christmas together in our V&A café, where they were visited by Santa.

The party started with a fantastic play, The Christmas Visitors, which involved pupils from Year 1 through to Year 6, taking advantage of our Grand Theatre. The pupils put on a strong performance after having rehearsed over the past several weeks. While most pupils had an opportunity to perform on stage, others played a background role, running the sound and lighting from the theatre technician’s booth.

After the play, parents and staff were treated to one final performance of the Christmas carols that pupils have sung so beautifully at a range of hotels over the last month, for their tree-lighting ceremonies.   

After the carols, everyone shared the Christmas biscuits that the pupils had prepared the day before with the help of the pastry chefs from the JW Marriot Hotel. A big thank you to our Friends of Wellington parents who supported this end of term Christmas party. And well done our pupils and teachers for successfully completing their first term at Wellington College International Hangzhou!

The end-of-term Christmas party was a wonderful way to end the term, and wraps up a busy month of additional festive season's activities that have helped our pupils develop the Wellington Identities of being Inspired, Intellectual, Independent, Individual and Inclusive. Now let’s take a chance to look back at some of the fantastic things that have occurred in such a short period of time, alongside all of the rigorous learning that has been happening in the classroom.

Last weekend, Wellington College International Hangzhou also attended the third international Hangzhou Christmas Fair. We added to the festivities by providing gifts, games and activities to children in the Hangzhou community. It was great to meet so many new people and share in the festive season spirit with them.

We wish all members of the Hangzhou community a very safe and merry festive season, and a Happy New Year. We look forward to a successful and busy 2019.
