Fundamental Research | Call for papers: Vehicle & Transportation

Special Issue on

Research and Practices in Intelligent Vehicles and Smart Transportation

Intelligent vehicles and Smart transportation provide unprecedented opportunities to mitigate traffic congestion, save energy consumptions, reduce traffic collisions, and enhance throughput. The key research and practices in this field includes advanced vehicle technologies, high-resolution data analytics, novel paradigms for mobility service, and system of multiple systems. Recent and prospective breakthroughs and innovations in these areas are inherently characterized by significant interdisciplinarity, which are able to fundamentally revolutionize the nature and scope of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) not only as a scientific discipline but also a prosperous industry. Great potential has been seen to transform our urban environment and quality of life. This Special Issue focuses on the interdisciplinary research and practices in the field, calling for critical reviews, perspectives, and research articles. We are interested in, but not limited to, the following topics:

Topics covered:

1

Travel and driving behavior

2

Cooperative control strategies

3

AI based network traffic state estimation and prediction

4

Testing and field experiments of intelligent vehicles

5

Synchronization of intelligent and connected vehicles and smart infrastructure systems

6

Cooperative and connected public transit systems

7

Urban aerial mobility

8

Digital twin techniques in intelligent vehicles and smart transportation

9
