《寄生虫》方回应被告抄袭

前阵子电影《寄生虫》刷新历史，荣获奥斯卡四大奖项。正所谓片红是非多，印度电影制作人PL Thenappan发声，表示《寄生虫》抄袭了自己1999年的作品《Minsara Kanna》。据了解，该片讲述的是男主为了爱情隐瞒身份，到富有的恋人家中当保镖的故事。同时，男主的弟弟和姐姐分别到那家里当仆人和厨师。

Minsara Kanna's producer PL Thenappan has sent an intimation mail to Parasite makers over plagiarism charges.

Ever since Korean film Parasite won four Academy Awards, congratulations are pouring in from all quarters. However, in Tamil Nadu, producer PL Thenappan of 1999-film Minsara Kanna, alleged that the Parasite team has lifted off the crux from the Tamil film.

Last week, Thenappan told IndiaToday.in told that he will sue the makers of Parasite. Now, Easwar Kuppusamy, a Madras High Court advocate, who is appearing for Thenappan, has sent an intimation mail to the makers of Parasite. The advocate stated that they would proceed with legal action if the Parasite makers do not respond to their mail before or by next Wednesday.

Easwar, in an interview to Times of India, said, "We’d provided them with details of Minsara Kanna, like its censoring date, star cast, story, etc. They can’t deny that they have lifted the basic plot (from the Tamil film). There are several films which have similar ideas, but an entire family going to a rich family’s house and deceiving them is Minsara Kanna’s plot. The only difference is that Parasite doesn’t belong to the romantic genre."

If the Parasite team does not respond to the intimation mail, then Thenappan would send a legal notice to director Boon Joon Ho and the producers with the help of the Korean Embassy.

Further, PL Thenappan and his lawyer Easwar will inform the Academy Awards team about the issue. If the Parasite makers admit to stealing the plot, then the producer might ask for compensation.

Minsara Kanna, directed by KS Ravikumar, features Vijay, Khushbu and Ramba in the lead roles. The film follows the story of a guy hailing from an affluent family in London pursuing his girlfriend. To get his girlfriend's family's permission, the guy's family come down to Chennai to work in their house.

据Soompi报道：“Parasite” Reps Respond To Reports That Producer Of Indian Film “Minsara Kanna” Is Considering Plagiarism Lawsuit

On February 18, “Parasite” production company CJ Entertainment responded to these reports. In an interview with Maeil Business Newspaper’s Star Today, a source from CJ Entertainment said, “We have no knowledge about plagiarism claims from an Indian film. We have not received any information regarding this issue.”
