Q: Yesterday, while delivering a speech in Washington D.C., US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made some remarks on China-US relations, the issue of South China Sea, the economic cooperation model between China and relevant countries and the international order. What is your comment on this?

答：中国坚定维护以联合国为核心、以《联合国宪章》宗旨和原则为基础的国际秩序。中国决不会以牺牲别国利益为代价发展自己，也决不放弃自己的正当权益。

A: China steadfastly upholds the international order with the Unites Nations (UN) at the core and based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. China will by no means pursue its own development at the expense of other countries' interests. Neither will China give up its own legitimate rights and interests.

中方致力于发展长期健康稳定的中美关系，这不仅符合两国人民的根本利益，也是亚太地区国家和国际社会的普遍期待。希望美方客观看待中国发展和在国际上发挥的积极作用，摒弃对华偏见，与中方相向而行，聚焦合作、妥处分歧，维护中美关系稳定发展势头。

The Chinese side is committed to the sustained, sound and steady development of China-US relations, which not only serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples but also represents the shared aspirations of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the international community. We hope that the United States can put China's development and China's positive role in the world into perspective, abandon its biased views of China and make concerted efforts with China to focus on cooperation, properly handle differences and maintain the momentum of the steady growth of China-US relations.

答：我们乐见美国和印度、乐见世界上所有国家发展正常和友好的国家关系，只要这有利于地区的和平与稳定，有利于促进地区国家间的互信。

A: We welcome the development of normal and friendly state-to-state relations between the United States and India and between countries all over the world as long as it is conducive to regional peace and stability and enhancing mutual trust between regional countries.

中东问题：

问：据报道，阿富汗塔利班武装17日在多省发动袭击，造成至少71人死亡，近170人受伤。中方对此有何评论？

Q: It is reported that Taliban militants attacked many provinces of Afghanistan on October 17, killing at least 71 people and wounding nearly 170 others. What is China's comment on this?

答：中方对有关袭击造成重大人员伤亡感到震惊，对袭击事件表示强烈谴责，对无辜遇难者表示哀悼，对受伤人员和遇难者家属表示诚挚慰问。中方对阿富汗国内暴力冲突升级感到关切，呼吁阿富汗各方积极支持和参与“阿人主导、阿人所有”的和解进程，共同维护国家的和平与发展。

A: The Chinese side is appalled by the heavy casualties caused by the relevant attacks and strongly condemns these attacks. We mourn for the innocent victims and convey our sincere condolences to the injured and the bereaved families. The Chinese side is concerned about the escalation of violence in Afghanistan and calls upon all relevant parties in Afghanistan to actively support and take part in the "Afghan-led and Afghan-owned" reconciliation process and jointly uphold national peace and development.
