CFP: Multimodal Technologies for Neural Modulation and Sensing

Special Issue on Multimodal Technologies for Neural Modulation and Sensing

The exploration of the brain is regarded as the last frontier in biological science. The capability to selectively and precisely modulate and detect neural activities with high spatiotemporal resolutions represents a powerful tool for neuroscience research and clinical therapeutics. The development of advanced materials, devices, algorithms and systems, as well as the utilization of electrical, optical, thermal, magnetic, acoustic and chemical signals, are rapidly progressed to realize advanced brain-machine interfaces.          This special issue calls for Reviews, Perspectives, and Research Articles that focus on the recent developments of advanced technologies for interrogating and detecting neural activities. We are particularly interested in but by no means limited to welcoming submission that addresses the following topics:

Topics covered:

1

Novel materials, devices, and circuit systems for brain-machine interfaces

2

Electrical, optical, thermal, magnetic, acoustic and chemical modalities to modulate and detect neural activities

3

Encoding and decoding algorithms for brain-machine interfaces

4

Novel approaches for neurological disease diagnostics and therapeutics

Deadline for manuscript submissions:

Sep. 1st, 2023

Submission instructions

Please read the Guide for Authors before submitting. All articles should be submitted online. Please select Multimodal Technologies for Neural Modulation and Sensing as the article category on submission. All submissions will be subject to peer review.
