活动|about the event

本次“华语电影鉴赏”活动由Unicorn映象主办，Luiss大学协助支持，将邀请到就读于NFTS英国皇家电影学院的电影策展人前来进行长片华语电影-《红高粱》的学术交流座谈，以此推动华语电影的交流与鉴赏，营造良好的电影交流氛围。同时，也意在给当地留学生、华侨及国际学生提供一个中欧文化交流的自由平台。

The "Chinese Film appreciation”, hosted by Unicorn screening(Lin yixiang) and supported by Luiss University,will invite film curators study in the NFTS to conduct an academic exchange discussion on the Chinese feature film "Red Sorghum" for promoting the exchange and appreciation of Chinese-language films, and to create a academic sphere for film exchanges.

At the same time, This event is also intended to provide the local students, overseas Chinese and international students with a free platform for cultural exchanges between China and Europe

因为一匹骡子，九儿（巩俐 饰）的父母要她嫁给一

位拥有一座酒坊的麻风病人。九儿出嫁时，在途中被强盗拦截。其中一名抬轿男子余占鳌（姜文 饰）打退了强盗，  九儿因而和他开始相互喜欢。3天后九儿回乡探望父母。抬轿男子突然从高粱田里冲出来，抢走了九儿。九儿回到酒坊的时候发现麻风病的丈夫死了，她撑起烧酒作坊，不久余占鳌正式成为九儿的丈夫，并独创酿制好酒的方法。抗日战争期间，九儿和余占鳌连手谱写了一曲悲歌... (豆瓣)

Synopsis: An old leper who owned a remote sorghum winery dies. Jiu’er, the wife bought by the leper, and her lover, identified only as “my Grandpa” by the narrator, take over the winery and set up an idealized quasi-matriarchal community headed by Jiu’er. When the Japanese invaders subject the area to their rule and cut down the sorghum to make way for a road, the community rises up and resists as the sorghum grows anew. (Letterboxd)

Gu Pengyuan

电影策展人，蓝光制作与发行。华威大学电影电视研究专业硕士，目前在英国国立电影电视学院（NFTS）攻读电影研究与策展专业二硕。碟影传媒的联合策划与国际发行，参与蓝光花絮的策划，导演与翻译工作。与亚洲电影专家Tony Rayns合作完成《红高粱》《盗马贼》《黑炮事件》《孩子王》《双旗镇刀客》等电影的蓝光花絮，合作翻译毕赣执导短片《秘密金鱼》英文字幕。在校期间担任FOCAL International Awards 2019学生评委，参与FIRST, CNEX, CIFF等电影节高校/城市巡展的策展工作，担任多个放映机构、校园放映、电影社团沙龙、开放日的策展人，担任多部获奖短片的顾问。

Xiao GU is a postgraduate student studying in National Film and Television School for Film Studies, Programming and Curation. He finished the first postgraduate course in University of Warwick for Film and Television Studies. Xiao Gu has been working as an independent film programmer and subtitler for different film festivals, universities and film clubs, subtitle work including The Secret Goldfish for Bi Gan. In addition, he is also the international distributor and feature director for Diskino, a Chinese Blu-ray label. He has made the features with film expert Tony Rayns for many Chinese classics such as Red Sorghum by Zhang Yimou, King of Children by Chen Kaige and The Horse Thief by Tian Zhuangzhuang. He has been the student jury for FOCAL International Awards 2019. At this moment, he is focusing on the programming and curation work around East Asian films in London, especially about the exhibition and distribution of Chinese films. He will bring up more screenings and Blu-ray release next year.

Unicorn映象（游霓映象）始发于2019，北京，是散落在世界各地的年轻人所组成的放映组织。我们致力于探索多样的形式与内容的延伸，关注女性议题，希望通过影像这一包容的载体，发出属于新一代青年创作者们的声音，也能为更多人提供一个点线面的思考切入口。同时，携手海内外青年电影人，为其提供走入公众视野，交流展映的自由平台。

The Unicorn screening，originated in 2019, Beijing,  is an independent screening organization of young people scattered around the world. We are focusing on exploring the extension of diverse forms and content，aiming to deliver the voices of a new generation of young creators through the inclusive carrier of images，and to provide a point-to-point thinking entry for more people. At the same time, we work together with young filmmakers at home and abroad，offering them a free platform to enter the public view for idea exchanging and communicating.
